Mission
Statement
MWA is a coalition of Africans on the continent and in
the diaspora who are committed to the reclamation of Indigenous African
spiritualities, knowledge systems,
economic praxis, and resources as the only viable means of addressing
the colonially-induced dis-ease and dysfunction plaguing our peoples.
While focused on rebuilding healthy, self-sustaining and sustainable
societies, MWA is simultaneously devoted to resisting continued
oppression, attaining reparations and bringing about justice for
genocide and other human rights violations carried out against Africans.
The name Moyo Wa Africa refers to African spirituality,
which is at the heart
of our cultures, and is necessary for the survival and upliftment of the
continent, and the world at large.
Moyo
Wa Africa positions itself within the larger movement for social justice
and includes an anti-oppression framework that is firmly opposed to
racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, transphobia and ableism.
